Who is it good for?

Why Waysound?

How does a recording session work?

Sessions typically start with an introduction to the engineer and a tour of the studio. Next, the musician is set up in our recording room (tracking room) where the engineer explains the process of getting a good headphone mix, how to redo takes, and answering any questions they may have so they are ready to record. Next is the fun part, recording! Once the recording portion is done, the musician sits next to the engineer in the listening room (control room) and listens through while the audio engineer helps make sure they are happy with the recording and gets it ready to take home. Our goal is to make sure their experience is fun and memorable!

How much does it cost to record?

Any amount can be purchased and go towards a full or partial payment for a session for the recipient. However, if you are interested in covering the entire costs, see below for some helpful tips.

HELPFUL TIPS

A vocalist singing to a backing track: Great introduction to the studio for singers who don’t play an instrument, or would rather just sing along to a karaoke track of their favorite tune. We are typically able to complete one (1) song in an hour’s session. The cost for this is $110. Check out some previous projects like this.

A musician playing an instrument as well as singing: Perfect for slightly more advanced musicians that are able to sing and play an instrument at the same time (though they have the option to record each part separately). This involves a more complex setup and are typically able to complete one (1) song in a two (2) hour session. The cost for this is $220. Check out some previous projects like this.

A podcaster recording an episode: A single or duo podcaster setup that hopes to create a finished 30 minute podcast episode starts with a one (1) hour recording session. The raw un-edited episode is provided for the podcaster to take home and listen through and make notes on content to keep or remove. In addition to balancing the volumes and sounds, the audio engineer performs the edits as well as adding in any music or sound effects that the podcaster provides in their notes. The total cost for this is $260. Check out some previous projects like this.
